Largest Silent Weekend (click this to register on-line)
The Weekend is scheduled to begin with
check-in 2 to 6 p.m. and an orientation at 7 p.m. on Thursday where you
will
see all presenters describe their topics in detail to help you choose
what
classes you want to attend. There will be
a free (for registered participants) pre-conference
workshop
from 2 to 5 p.m.with RID CEUs applied for.
Socialize with participants and presenters from the past 29
Silent
Weekends Thursday evening in the hotel’s lobby and bar area.
Friday and Saturday will have classes for ASL
students and interpreters from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Thursday and Friday evenings will have
optional classes. Interpreters
should be able to obtain more than 2.0 RID CEUs … over a
year’s quota at this and future Silent Weekends. We are planning a Sunday morning program for
three
hours with RID CEUs
applied for. Our feature for 2009 is a legal interpreting track.
In 2010, it will be medical interpreting.
The
website www.DrSign.com will have a list of those seeking room-mates. If you would like to share a room, you can
indicate so on the website.

an idea
of what will be offered this year. As
presenters are acceopted they will be posted on the website. The complete program book minus the handouts
will be online at the beginning of June.

If a natural disaster or
local authorities cause the silent weekend to be cancelled, you will be

a refund minus 10% to cover upfront costs (program book, etc.)
