Shannon has been in the field of deaf education and interpreter preparation for over 30 years.  In Florida, her name is synonymous with excellent hands-on professional development activities. She is also well known in the educational interpreting field connected to the Educational Interpreter Project, a statewide project funded by the Florida Department of Education.  Over 150 signs related to mathematics and a bonus feature is a notation system to help you use Shannon's system to remember a 3-D sign.

Also, Science Signs -- signs divided into categories such as Methods of Science with signs such as control, hypothesis, theory, volume, etc.; Physics with signs such as circuit, air resistance, gravity, electromagnet, radiation, etc.; Earth Science with signs such as crater, erosion, fault, orbit, vaporization; etc.; Chemistry with signs such as diffusion, proton, nucleus, etc.; and Biology with signs such as capillary, cartilage, immunity, stimulate, etc.

Using ordinary items, Maureen gives ideas on how to include visual information that goes beyond size, shapes and color when describing inanimate objects.  She shows non-manual markers that give a wealth of information and includes suggestions on how to practice improving this skill.
