The 30th World's Largest Silent Weekend is June 25-28, 2009 at the Renaissance Hotel -  Airport in Orlando.  Room prices are cheaper than ever!    If you are flying in to Orlando there is a free shuttle to the hotel.  This hotel is also five miles closer to Disney World!

          Keep in mind that if you are coming to this event to as a part of professional development, your tax accountant can advise you to the details but you may be able to deduct more than fifty cents per mile for travel, plus lodging and other expenses.  The cost differential from a private room or four in a room is just a few dollars and you may be able to deduct the cost of your lodging from your 2008 income tax so bring your family and let them enjoy Orlando while you get a one-stop shopping extravanza of over 2.0 CEUs in one location with presenters from all over America!  So, if you drive in, for example, 500 miles, that's almost $500 tax deduction for mileage alone for the round trip.

      I was on the FRID Board for years and know that RID affiliates' board members are very dedicated people so I want to do something special for them.  All RID affiliate Presidents or First Vice Presidents as listed on the RID website will have free registrations for the 2009 Silent Weekend again ... one per affiliate.  All you need to do is to print out the registration form, fill it out, write on it 'RID AFFILIATE PRESIDENT' and return by April 15, 2009.  Board members get a $50 discount.  Make sure you mark on your registration form your position on the Board and deduct $50 from the current registration price.

      CALL FOR PRESENTERS  (30th Silent Weekend in 2009)  Unlike most conferences that require you to pay for registeration, be responsible for your travel, accommodations and expect you to present "gratis", we are increasing the honorarium for all presenters up to $100 per hour AND provide a room AND travel AND complimentary registration.
